It's been along time since we are talked. You sold my dad's cabin after he passed away. It was up in Zimmerman. I hope you remember me. I wanted to send you an email first, before we spoke on phone, so I could get my thoughts on paper and give you a chance to think about things before we set up any appointment.
My fiance' , Steve and I are seriously thinking about selling our home in Savage. You did an amazing job selling our dad's cabin, so we always said we would want you to be our realtor. I hope you come out this far as I believe you are in Elk River. You know, it doesn't seem like the market has improved as to selling. It is such a catch 22 as you can really get a good deal on buying but selling is another matter. Right now, our plans are that we woul d like to get into a townhome. We are both going to be 62 this year and plan on taking early retirement. That in itself is scary as we don't have alot of money, but we know for sure that we do not want to continue paying a mortgage at over $1,000 a month. Our intent, if we could get decent money for our house, would hopefully be to pay cash for a townhome and not have a mortgage. Steve bought the house about 10 years ago and honestly I don't remember what he paid for it. It was built in 1986 and is a four story home. I believe we would have about $50,000 in equity, maybe more, depending on what we sold it for.
What are your thoughts about selling now? I'm sure economy will one day be better, but we don't want to wait until that happens. Who knows how many years that could take.
Why don't you email me back with your thoughts and we will go from there. When we do set up an appointment it would have to be either some evening or possibly Saturday, as Steve works, I don't, but would obviously want him involved in our meeting.
So, whenever you can get back to me, that would be great. I'm kinda in and out right now, if you should try to call. The last few days have been rough, as my Mom passed away last Monday and the funeral was Saturday. So it's been a difficult time, but I wanted to email you as we should probably get the ball rolling, as I'm thinking it could take awhile to sell.

Hi Kathy ~ we are doing fine...we love our new home! It's a lot of work moving but it's worth it and I know in the long run when all is said and done and we have gone through our last box and broken down all the boxes for good - we will be so much happier.

I read the emails below and I have to say that is VERY nice of you. I surely do not expect you to be working on Christmas Eve so if necessary feel free to push that appointment back to the Original date of Monday the 27th as I really don't want you to have to miss any family time either! The house will not be ready on Thursday so that is not an option for me. It sounds as though you have decided to show the buyers the home yourself....which again is Very kind of you to do.

We just received your fridge magnet football schedule and it occurred to me that I don't believe I ever did formally thank you for your real estate services and selling our house. So here it is, thank you Kathy! Looking back, it was a smooth sale and you were a great help with an enjoyable personality that worked well with us. In addition, thank you for the pizza gift certificate you sent our family. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at our favorite local pizza place.
Just in case you wonder... our new house is currently under construction and moving along well with only minor glitches, thankfully, and hope the rest will continue the same. Now that I'm retired, fishing has become a more frequent activity. To fill my time when I'm not fishing, I'm a member of the Anoka City Planning Commission, the Anoka County Corrections Board and a director of my Townhome Association. I also build custom fishing rods. These rods are unique to each person's wishes and have their name on the side. In the last two months I have build over a dozen rods for people. In the right hands, they are guaranteed to catch fish. I hope the housing market is still treating you well. You are very good at what you do and I do not know of a harder working agent.
